Seton Catholic Schools is the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s model for K-8 parish schools in Greater Milwaukee. The Seton Family of Catholic Schools will serve 3000 students at our 14 schools for the 2023-24 school year, and we plan to grow to over 20 schools serving more than 5000 students. Seton is strengthening academics, faith formation and life-long outcomes for all students and is a unique model on the front end of transforming Catholic education in Milwaukee and across the nation. 

Role Summary:  

The Human Resources Partner is responsible for employee relations and personnel issues related to performance management and aligning employees with the objectives of Seton Catholic Schools.   

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:   

  • Oversee all performance management topics with school leaders and ensure school leaders and supervisors are effectively managing the performance of their direct reports.  

  • Support and provide oversight of all performance improvement plans, non-renewals, reductions in force, and terminations of employees to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.   

  • Develop and maintain performance management systems and processes.  

  • Provide daily performance management guidance and coaching to school leaders and supervisors throughout Seton.   

  • Manage and resolve employee relations and personnel issues.  Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations for employee misconduct and/or behavior concerns.   

  • Work with employees and leaders and provide oversight on employee conflicts, complaints, and any harassment and/or discrimination claims and identify solutions.  

  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase employee satisfaction, performance, and retention.  

  • Meet regularly with the Chief Schools Officer and Regional Directors to collaborate on employee and personnel related topics.  

  • Year-round responsibilities to increase retention of teachers and Educational Assistants; including, but not limited to end of year employee recognition, beginning of year Professional Development days, and follow up throughout year to identify employee concerns.  

  • Manage and support employee recognition efforts across Seton throughout the year.  

  • Collaborate with Academic team and school leaders on career pathways and development for employees.  

  • Manage license requirements for all teachers and plans of study as needed.  

  • Support and manage training and development needs of employees across Seton. 

  • Support onboarding of all new employees at the beginning of, and throughout the school year. 

  • Respond to employee HR and/or personnel related inquiries.  

  • Support CFAO, Director of HR Business Services, and Talent Manger as needed.  

  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree required. 

  • Deep belief in Seton Catholic Schools mission, vision, and values. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal and written.  

  • Knowledge of HR applicable laws and regulations.  

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous HR Generalist or related experience. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a dynamic work environment. 

  • Ability to travel between buildings as needed.

Physical Demands:  This position requires physical skills that will allow the employee to work in a typical office setting, such as standing, sitting, talking and listening on the phone, and moving between offices and buildings.  The ability to drive a car and travel between schools is essential.  The employee must occasionally lift and move boxes and supplies up to 20 pounds.
