Instructional Coach

Seton Catholic Schools is a new, collaborative network of K-8 parish schools in Greater Milwaukee. We are coming together to strengthen academics, faith formation and life-long outcomes for all students. By 2020, Seton will include nearly 30 schools serving 10,000 students and be a national model for urban school renewal. As a Seton network instructional coach, you will be a leader in this important transformation.

Job Summary

We are looking for instructional coaches who will bring a “whatever it takes” attitude to ensuring our schools are positioned to help all students succeed. Instructional coaches support school leaders and teachers as they develop, deliver, and continuously reflect upon and refine their practice in order to increase student achievement. Instructional coaches work closely with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Chief Academic Officer, and other network team members to identify and drive improvements in instructional practice, classroom and school culture, use of data and assessment, and professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Determine, design, and implement, with input from Seton network leaders, school-specific instructional support plans, helping to set priorities for instruction, teacher development, curriculum, and assessment. 
  • Strategic partnership and coaching of principals, other school leaders, and teachers to ensure academic success for all students.
  • In collaboration with school leaders, ensure robust curriculum implementation as well as a comprehensive assessment and data-driven instruction cycle.
  • Build relationships and cultivate a network-wide community of connected, highly-motivated educators and school leaders.
  • Design and execute professional development opportunities for teachers and school leaders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, including Title I service agencies and tutoring programs, to drive academic alignment across all school stakeholders.
  • Contribute to network-wide academic vision, goal-setting, and planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and establish an efficient, flexible schedule to achieve operational goals while working autonomously.
  • At least five years of teaching and/or school leadership experience demonstrating excellent instructional skills, significant student achievement gains and the ability to affect school transformation.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis on curriculum, assessment and instruction and/or educational leadership.
  • Extraordinary dedication to working with students with diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Ability to travel between schools and partner organizations on regular basis.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended workdays as needed.
